Broken Sewing Machine
My sewing machine broke this weekend. I messed up the timing on my bobbin. :( Luckily my FIL had a sewing machine that I could use to finish up the last costumes. He said he would also take a look at it to see if he could fix the timing. I have faith in him. :) Looks like I need to take a break from sewing for a little bit... hahaha... at least this gives me some time to trace Burda patterns. Any ideas on what to use to trace the patterns? Should I just use tracing paper?

lucky you to have such a handy FIL helping you out! I've been using tracing paper for my BWOF patterns. Before that, I was using quilting grid, which was easier to do pin fitting with. The paper is easier to maneuver and make alterations on though, which is why I prefer it.
So sorry about your machine. Hopefully your FIL can fix it in no time. I'm currently using medical examining table paper that I got from a medical supply story - now they've stopped selling it but it works great.
@meli88a - Thanks for the tip! I think tracing paper maybe the easiest to acquire.
@Faye - Hmm... I'm going to have to look for a medical supply store. I think I've seen some around.
I use a roll of art paper that I get from Blick Art in San Diego. It's just artist's paper. I have heard from others that they get similar paper at Staples for cheap. Anything that isn't too thick will work fine - even if you have to tape the pages together. Good luck! I know you'll do great with Burda patterns.
I use Canson Sketching/Tracing paper 24in x 50yds. I bought it at Dick Blick. It works great for me.
Sorry about your machine. When I trace BWOF patterns I use Burda's own brand tracing paper, which is sold here in the UK but I'm not sure if you can get it in the US. It comes in packs of 5 sheets each approx 59" x 43" and it's white, one side has a sort of glossy finish. It's easy to see through but is reasonably strong for taping to make alterations.
Thanks, Susan, Andrea, and Eugenia! I have some poster roll paper that I bought for pattern drafting. I think I may try that first and if it doesn't work out look into other options. :) You guys are a great help!
