Old FO - Butterick 5246

I finished this Butterick 5246 at the beginning of the year, but never got around to posting pictures or a review until now. This is only my second time wearing the dress and I still haven't decided if I like it or not.

Here are few of my dislikes:
1. The wrong side of the ties can be seen. This could be a pretty easy fix, but I didn't have enough fabric to fix this.
2. The cowl part isn't as big as I thought it would be.
3. The wrong side of the cowl can be seen if it doesn't lay perfectly.
4. The gathering at the center front under the bust is a little too poufy.

Despite all of the above... I still kind of like it, but I definitely don't LoVE it. Oh well... I'll probably wear it a few more times. Here's a full review.

Here's detail of the cowl neck.

I think it looks pretty fantastic on you! Maybe you can tack down that cowl. The poufiness of the gathering under the bust doesn't look maternity at all -- in fact, it looks just perfect for long lunches at Stubb's. LOL Nicely done.

I really like this on you! That's a bummer with the wrong sides showing. Maybe there's a way to tack them down somehow. I think this would be really cute for fall with tights and a pair of boots. I'm gonna have to check out this pattern for myself. I really like the print you used too.

Thanks, ladies! :)

Antoinette & Byrdie, I should look into tacking it down. I love the tights and boots idea, too!

I love how this dress came out. I think I managed to use the last bit of my fabric to fix the same tie issue you have. Yours really does look amazing!
